FAC launched in 2015, and is a bridge lending platform focusing on originating mid-sized loans secured by multi-family and mixed use properties in the five boroughs of New York City.  FAC provides short term financing of two-to-ten-million for cash-flow or time-constrained deals, acquisitions, and non-cash flowing properties up to 85-percent loan-to-value ratio.  The firm has a seven year track record with co-founders working together in NYC real estate for over 12-years and a combined 35-years of real estate experience. 

Meet the Team

David Schwartz is the Managing Partner and has been involved in over 120 New York City multi-family real estate transactions, as well as over $500MM of real estate loans. Prior to co-founding Sugar Hill Capital Partners, Mr. Schwartz was an Executive Director in the structured products group at Royal Bank of Scotland/ABN AMRO Bank, where his work included real estate securitizations. Prior to this role, Mr. Schwartz was a Managing Director at Dresdner Bank where he was responsible for the structured products marketing and origination team. Mr. Schwartz also held positions at Chemical Bank, Chase Securities, Standard Chartered Bank in Singapore, and National Westminster Bank in Tokyo. Mr. Schwartz holds an M.B.A. in Finance from New York University and a B.A. in Economics from George Washington University.

Uanderson Benedetti is a Senior Loan Originator responsible for sourcing and negotiating transactions. Prior to joining FAC, Uanderson was a Managing Director at JCL Capital Partners where he originated and underwrote over $150MM in bridge loans to acquisition, refinancing and rehabilitation projects. Uanderson has also developed and converted over 1MM square feet of municipal, private and commercial real estate in NYC. Uanderson holds a B.S in engineering from Manhattan college with minors in both mathematics and business. 

Jake Sosne is a Senior Associate who handles transaction origination, due diligence, structuring and execution. Mr. Sosne has participated on all of Fort Amsterdam Capital’s loan transactions to date. Prior to joining, Mr. Sosne was a Transactions Analyst for Sugar Hill Capital Partners. Mr. Sosne holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in International Relations and Economics from Brown University and the London School of Economics.

Melissa Sierra is the Head of Operations and Due Diligence. Prior to joining, Ms. Sierra was the Head of Property Management Accounting for Sugar Hill Capital Partners. Ms. Sierra has over 10 years of experience in accounting. Ms. Sierra holds a B.A. in Economics from SUNY Binghamton University and is currently pursuing a M.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Maryland.
